One of the biggest beauty problems we come across in heat and humidity is it melting and trying to make makeup last. Living in Vegas, we know all about that! It might be dry-heat but if it's 110-120 degrees, it doesn't matter if it's dry heat or if it's humid, you're going to have issues, you're going to sweat.
My good friend and professional makeup artist Jessica Resendez of Gossamer Beauty who has done my makeup before when I was outside shooting in 110-degree heat is with us today, so I know she knows what she's talking about! Jessica shares some of her favorite ways of making makeup last in the summer and some of her favorite cruelty-free products.
When you're trying to keep your makeup long lasting the important thing is that you need to make sure that you're wearing products that matter the most rather than layering them on, as you're just inviting the heat to melt that off; not pleasant. So you need to stick with water based and matte products that are going to stick to your skin and not move around.
Avoiding the oil-based products and going for powders and anything matte, those are your friends and definitely setting sprays. We want to avoid high emollients and high oils and stick with things that are dry.
Jessica shares her favorite cruelty-free primers, foundations, setting sprays, eyeshadows, liners, and lipsticks for ultimate wear in the heat and humidity as well as where to highlight for that youthful look.
